The Go-Betweens’ catalogue is a rich one, filled with songs that stay with you and come up at odd moments. Initially this song didn’t stick out much from the others on Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express. Yet I later realised it described something almost vanished: a long sea voyage which I guess persisted as a way of getting to/from Australia until the 1980s.
