I’ve been debating how best to approach the phenomenon of Country’n’Irish for a while, a genre of music one could pontificate pompously about, but what better way than via Mike Denver and his rousing version of the Beatles’ most child-friendly song? I particularly love how “the band begins to play” is followed not by an actual brass band but by Denver going “diddly-aye, diddly-aye di day” (or words to that effect!)
