If there is a vocal tradition I am most drawn to, it is the Russian. Around 2000 I saw the UCD Choral Scholars (more of which later this month) in concert: one of their encore pieces was from Rachmaninov’s All Night Vigil (more of which later this month) which was my first exposure to the glorious, expansive, majestic world of Russian choral music.
