I’ve made it so far without reckoning with the enormous shade of Johnny Cash. Here he is with June, on a TV duet (with somewhat cringe set-up) performing “Jackson”, the song which Paddy McAloon claimed gave Prefab Sprout their name (through mis-hearing “pepper sprout” in the Lee Hazelwood / Nancy Sinatra version, although that McAloon’s tongue was likely far embedded in his cheeck)
